When disaster hits, it hits big. Ever since Child United started helping families in devastation, it has helped thousands of people.
In Dec. 2011, Child United (along with PAYO) sorted, packed and delivered 120+ relief boxes for victims devasted by Typhoon Washi (Sendong) in the Philippines.
Early in the month before devastation hit, volunteers traveled to the northern Philippines to distribute donations to hundreds of families living in poverty.
In Dec. 2009, Child United distributed donations to families living in evacuation center in flood-affected areas. Typhoon Pedring devastated Metro Manila and surrounding provinces. As a result of donors, Child United has personally helped over 250+ families living in Pangasinan and more than a thousand families in Tonda, Manila, Binan, Laguna and Cainta, Rizal.
Under it’s education initiatives, Child United has helped a dozen schools and orphanages in the Dominican Republic, Haiti and the Philippines. The organization provided assistance, computers, books and school supplies. Through the help of several sponsors, Child United is able to provide for ten children so they can continue their high school education.
Christine also changed the life of one boy desperately in need of a wheelchair. George was born without arms and legs and because of our founder, this is the first time he is able to get around without any help.
In June 2009, a Child United volunteer traveled to the Philippines and brought two boxes of donations to an orphanage in Manila. She was able to bring smiles to the children at Hospicio De San Jose, the oldest charitable organization in the Philippines.
Child United’s founder traveled to the farms of Pangasinan in September 2008 in her first relief trip. She provided a rural school with thousands of books, gave school supplies to hundreds of children and clothed dozens of families.
In the end, Child United’s effort reached thousands of people in desperate need. They brought HOPE, HELP and EDUCATION to many.
The organization’s goal is to contribute to more third world countries and provide HOPE and EDUCATION to all children in poverty.
