In response to natural disasters throughout the world, Child United has stepped up to provide HOPE in times of crisis.
So far, Child United has helped thousands of families in the Philippines when a series of typhoons devastated the country. More then a thousand people died and many more were left homeless without any basic necessities.
Child United mobilized its teams and banded together to provide relief goods to those affected by devastation. Hundreds of people helped Child United with its relief efforts. Read Our Media Coverage.
In December 2011, Typhoon Washi (Sendong) killed 1000+ people and left more than 600,000 homeless. Child United spearheaded distribution of relief boxes in the affected areas. More thank 120+ boxes were donated to help typhoon victims.
In November 2010, a container filled with 227 boxes (in addition to the 20 already shipped) made its way to Manila where the goods were distributed to regions, Pangasinan, Rizal and Laguna. Eighty percent of Pangasinan was flooded during Typhoon Pepeng’s fury. Families in devastated Binan, Laguna continue to suffer in flooded areas. More than 7,000 people were living in evacuation centers months after the typhoons hit the country.
Child United has also helped an orphanage in Haiti shortly after the devastating earthquake shook the country. Funds were raised to help the children.
The organization continues to respond to natural disasters and is continually looking for partnerships with NGOs to accomplish its disaster missions.
